Fujitsu just says that their driver is Windows 10 compatible, which seems to be correct, because it is registered properly under 'Biometric devices' as 'Validity Sensors (WBF) (PID=0050)' in the Device Manager. I believe this is the same way it appeared, before I reinstalled Windows. Does anyone have any suggestions I can try? Happy to gather more details if needed for further troubleshooting.

Summary: Windows 10 is working quite well, though I had to restore some missing shortcuts and reinstall a few drivers. If in no rush I would wait a month or two.

I third this request. To use facial recognition for Windows Hello, you need a special camera like RealSense or one with an IR sensor. You can also use a fingerprint scanner (like those found in certain Dell/Lenovo and the new Surface Pro keyboard) to authenticate. Basically Windows Hello is a framework for biometric authentication so as newer biometric sensors mature support will presumably be added; but the app doesn't have to worry about the specific sensor as they're interfacing with the Hello framework. Windows 8.1 had the fingerprint lockscreen while 10 has the fingerprint lockscreen AND account sign in. When you turn on your computer or wake from sleep in w10, you actually sign in to both.
