Since I used FileVault to encrypt my whole drive, 6 and 4 must be held before the user is prompted for the FV password (just before before the Apple with 'gear' stage). There is a known issue in this release where forcing or allowing the system to go to sleep while running CUDA applications on 2012 MacBook Pro models with automatic graphics switching will cause a system crash (kernel panic). You can prevent the computer from automatically going to sleep by setting the Computer Sleep option slider to Never in the Energy Saver pane of the System Preferences.? Some are luckly as the defaults sense ids of the aticontroller matchs with there laptop display configurations. We use edid of displays when we did not patch our sense ids then the aticontoller does not fuly recognize the displays and gives the standard output which is not mostly compatible with the lvds thus display does not comes hence we use use edid to make the ati controller forcely recognize the display and give us the output hence with the use of the sense id we does not need edid or vice versa. Sense ids are like the address of the displays port from where kexts use to get the data and the supported resolution of the displays.

We need to patch the aricontroller because the default mac books has the following configuration having default sense ids and the ati configuration which we writes is hidden in bios loader of the macbooks, we can use any of the configuration (according to our display ports as we have 4 then must use any configuration having four sense ids and then patch accordingly ) so we patch it so that the kext fully recognize our displays and give good and compatible output.
