In you’re my Downloads folder create a “DAZ Studio” folder. Within that, create “!!!New ZIPs”, “!!!Extracted ZIPs folder”, & “!!!Tutorials” folders. The “!!!” keeps these folders toward the front of the line and marked as yours. Collect ZIP files in your “New ZIPS” folder. Use the extract here option to unzip the folders.

In the is example, the hair prop was associated with Victoria's head by a drag-and-drop of the hair item onto the head item in the list of elements in the scene. For the clothing, the 'fit to' property of the prop was set to Victoria. For this animation there were 30 frames per second at 320 x 240 pixels. I just started into The Complete Guide to DAZ Studio 4 and the language in the book is easy to follow with enough screen shots to aid in understanding. The author gives the reader sound recommendations for changing defaults and gets the DAZ Studio user up and running quickly. I enjoy the logic and flow of the book.

This changed in Genesis 3 to allow Daz 3D figures to be more compatible with other 3D software platforms as well as Game Development platforms. Genesis 8: The jump in version naming from Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 was in order to address confusion in naming conventions. Although Genesis had reached its fourth version, most of the Daz 3D flagship characters were now on their eight versions. In order to avoid the confusion of Victoria 8 or Michael 8 being Genesis 4 characters, Daz 3D shifted the versioning of Genesis to match with the character versions. Genesis 8 also includes significant changes in the figure's backward compatibility with previous generations and their content as well as Joint and muscle bends and flexing and facial expressions.
Not a commerical, just a pointer to a resource from a satisfied user. If you are interested in the Poser community at all, or if you just want a decent figure for a Blender picture and don’t have the experience to do one on your own, you need to sign up at and get these FREE and very popular figure objects. Daz said the offer was only for a week or two, so I’d grab it them ASAP, although the current “sale” price of free says until Dec 2005, so I’m not sure. As I understand it, these are the FULL figures, not the “LE” light versions. The don’t include the “morphs” etc, but if you other morphs that are based off the “base” figure should work fine. You can also get the latest beta of Daz Studio, their free Poser-type program, which uses an open-source renderer, I believe, although you need a power-house PC to use it. I’d bet well over 1GHz, even a 2 GHz PC is not very snappy.
